The proposed Container City is an emergency housing solution designed to provide safe and functional temporary shelters for individuals displaced by the ongoing war in Ukraine. By repurposing shipping containers, the project leverages low-cost, readily available materials to create modular, adaptable living spaces that can be rapidly assembled in response to the housing crisis.

This design emphasizes affordability and practicality, using local materials such as sustainably sourced pine for interior finishes and furniture. this ensures cost-efficiency while adding warmth and familiarity to the living spaces. Insulation is achieved with mineral wool, a budget-friendly yet effective material that enhances thermal comfort for Ukraine's diverse climate conditions. Lightweight, durable materials like corrugated metal sheets for container exteriors and recycled composites for flooring further reduce costs without compromising durability or safety.

Community gardens and shared facilities maximize resource efficiency, while sustainable features such as solar panels and rainwater harvesting systems reduce operational costs over time.
